Terms of Use
Using this website and our free tools
Last updated: 26 October 2026
The short version
- This website and our free tools give general information, not advice for your circumstances.
- We work to keep them accurate, but requirements and products change, so check before you rely on them.
- Please use the site fairly: don't try to break, overload or copy it.
- Our paid work is covered by the agreement we make with you, not by these terms.
The full terms below set out the details.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of gostrategic.co.uk, including our free tools (the email security check and the Cyber Essentials readiness check). By using the website, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the website.
They don't cover the services we provide to clients, including the client portal and any domains we register for you. Those are covered by your proposal and estimate, or other written agreement with us, which takes priority over anything on this website. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
2. Who we are
This website is run by Go Strategic, a trading name of M. Chung. You can contact us at hello@gostrategic.co.uk.
3. Information on this website
Everything on this website is general information about IT strategy and security. It isn't professional advice for your business, and you shouldn't rely on it as if it were. For advice on your own situation, please talk to us or another qualified adviser.
We work to keep the website accurate and up to date, but we can't promise that it always is. Standards such as Cyber Essentials, and products such as Microsoft 365, change regularly, and some of the website may describe them as they were when it was written.
4. Our free tools
The email security check reads a domain's public DNS records at the moment you run it and, where they're published, checks its MTA-STS policy host and BIMI logo. It can't see inside your mailboxes, your email platform's settings or anything else that isn't published publicly, so a good result doesn't mean your email is fully secure. Its ratings out of 5 are our own simple measure, not an industry standard.
The Cyber Essentials readiness check is a quick self-check based on your answers and on the requirements as we understand them at the time of writing. It isn't an assessment or a certification, and a good result doesn't guarantee you'll pass. Certification is carried out by an IASME certification body, which sets out the current requirements.
Both tools run in your browser, and their PDF reports are made there too. We don't see or store what you check unless you choose to email us your results (see our Privacy Policy). Any decision you make based on their results is yours, so please check anything important before you act on it.
5. Using the website fairly
When you use the website, please don't:
- use it for anything unlawful or fraudulent;
- try to gain unauthorised access to it, or to the systems it runs on;
- introduce viruses or other harmful code, or try to disrupt or overload it;
- run the free tools automatically or in bulk, or copy large parts of the website with automated tools.
6. Our content
The text, design, graphics and Go Strategic name and logo on this website belong to us. You're welcome to view, print and share pages for your own use or within your organisation, and to link to any page. Please don't copy, republish or sell our content without asking us first.
7. Logos and trade marks
Other organisations' names, logos and trade marks on this website belong to their owners. The client and partner logos show organisations we work with. If you'd like your logo removed, please email us and we'll take it down.
The email security check shows a domain's BIMI logo only because the domain's owner publishes it publicly, to be shown next to their email. We show it so you can see how it appears, load it straight from the owner's server, and don't store it or use it for anything else.
8. Links to other websites
We link to other websites, such as Microsoft, the NCSC and IASME, where they're useful. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit or exclude.
The website and free tools are provided free of charge and as they are. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or the free tools. This includes loss of profit, revenue, business, data or opportunity, and any indirect or consequential loss.
We take reasonable care to keep the website free from viruses and harmful code, but we can't guarantee it. Please use your own security software.
If you're using the website as a consumer, these terms don't affect your legal rights.
10. Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or remove any part of the website or the free tools at any time, and we don't guarantee it will always be available or free from errors. We may also update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute about them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings there.
12. Contact us
